OCTOBER 8TH 2005 :
AN APOCALYPSE
High in the stunning mountains of Kashmir, an earthquake caused a massive landslide destroying three villages that occupied a mountainside. The enormous debris created a natural dam below where a small stream filled the valley and created a deep lake. Three thousand people are buried beneath this lake. From an adjoining mountain, an old shepherd witnessed the catastrophic event unfold before his eyes:
“…homes, schools, farms, trees, animals, children, mothers and fathers…hopes and dreams were consumed by an immense rolling thunderous landslide that had mercy for no one…it seemed to be end of the world…may God bless all those who perished…”
